Why is it my favourite? Because of its message. A feminist is a person who supports equality of opportunity and equality of outcome for women. And when we reach that goal, we all benefit. This, in my opinion, isn’t officially formal wear. This gives more of a chill vibe, not really suitable for that smart, serious look we aim for, in the office. If you aren’t into formal shirts, you could to for semi formal ones like these.These shirts with Chinese collars look just as formal as regular shirts. A buttoned, or polo, collar was originally sports wear, designed for polo players to stop their collar flapping as they rode their horses. Generally speaking, the more sleek and smooth an item of clothing, the more formal. In the case of shirts this means both the cloth and the collar. A cutaway collar is the most formal for wear with a lounge suit, with formality dropping ever so slightly as you get closer to a button down. The distinction is pretty minor however, so I wouldn’t get too caught up in these fine distinctions. The reason why we typically choose a darker colour neck tie when matching with a shirt is because, we’d want the tie to act as an arrow to point to the wearer’s face. If and only if you are wearing a corporate polo shirt, i.e., a polo shirt embroidered with the logo of your company or your client’s company, that is tucked in to your trousers AND you are wearing pressed trousers and formal shoes. Of course, the corporate polo should come from the official company store (many companies have online stores that sell official merchandise, even if they aren’t B2C companies). And I wrote “trousers” – not chinos or slacks. Some companies might consider a polo and chinos to be business casual, but to be safe, wear nice trousers.
