My step dad got shot in the It’s a philly thing Eagles St Partrick’s day shirt But heart as a teenager. He said his whole body went numb. He couldn’t feel a thing. Obviously he went unconscious after little time. He was left to die and luckily was found in time. He is a living walking miracle. The doctor literally was pumping his heart in his hand. His surgery was successful and was discharged a little over 2 weeks later. The kid who shot him received no jail time, although it was an accident. He was on that show back in the 90s that went over crazy things like this. I forget what it’s called. Anyone know? Got shot by a .17HMR through a truck bed, the back cab, and through the seat into my right hand. It entered in two shrapnel pieces into the back of my hand between my ring finger and pinkie. Left a half inch U shaped hole in the back of my hand, and the pieces of shrapnel stayed lodged in my hand. One near the entry, one near the webbing between my two fingers. I could feel one of the pieces through my skin. It just felt like someone took a lighter and held it to my hand, an intense burning feeling. Had to go a week with the wound open before the hand specialist followed the path of the shrapnel and pulled them out of the entry hole. The only issue I have now is I can’t move my pinkie towards my index finger with my hand splayed out. I was very lucky the .17hmr went through two layers of metal before my hand otherwise the right side of my hand would have been in much much worse shape. Also lucky I was not sitting in the truck as it would have entered my back near my lungs/spine. Just super lucky to have been shot and able to type this out in general. All in all it’s a good conversation piece now lol
