When examined, ‘love at first sight’ mainly happens in retrospect. We humans are programmed to respond to that which we find attractive in members of the opposite sex (or the same sex if you are that way inclined.) So we notice and respond to these attractive forces all the time. Most of the time nothing comes of it – Occasionally when one of them reciprocates the attraction and something develops, we look back on the first meeting and say ‘It was love at first sight’ – but the truth is, it could have happened with anybody.
